Men's Track and Field Finishes Sixth at Patriot League Championship

EASTON, Pa. - The Holy Cross men's track and field team took sixth place out of nine teams at the Patriot League Championships. The team scored 21 overall team points through two days of competition. Navy won the men's and women's championships with 281 points on the men's side. 

TRACK EVENTS:

  • In the finals of the 110m hurdles, junior Brandon Thornhil finished in third with a time of 14.64, which was just .13 seconds off of breaking his own school record.
  • Freshman Gabe Piepergerdes finished fifth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 54.08. 
  • The 4x400m relay team of Piepergerdes, junior Jacob Newton and senior Freddie Halloran and Thomas Kalantzakos took fifth with a time of 3:20.92. 

FIELD HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Senior Andre Harton took eighth place in the high jump (1.87m).
  • Junior Alexander Escada finished in sixth place in the men's decathlon with 5735 points.

UP NEXT:

The New England Championship qualifiers will compete in Hanover, N.H. on May 11.
