Piepergerdes Leads Men's Track and Field at IC4A Championships
PRINCETON, New Jersey – Sophomore Gabe Piepergerdes ran the second-fastest time in Holy Cross men’s track and field history as he won the 400 meter hurdles at the IC4A Championships, hosted on Saturday, May 11 and Sunday, May 12.
- Piepergerdes finished in a time of 52.97 seconds to earn the victory, becoming the first individual IC4A champion from Holy Cross in nearly 50 years; he fell just short of his own school record in the event, which he set at the Patriot League Championships on May 4 in a time of 52.61 seconds.
- Sophomore Michael Pichay placed third in the triple jump with a leap of 14.57 meters.
- Senior Brandon Thornhill finished 14th in the prelims of the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.04 seconds.
- The Crusaders finished with 15 points as a team, the most on the men’s side at an IC4A Championship in nearly 50 seasons, to place 21st out of 45 teams.
