Berrafato Earns All-Atlantic Hockey Honors

Holy Cross Athletics   03-07-2018

WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross senior goaltender Paul Berrafato was selected to the All-Atlantic Hockey first team as announced by the conference. This is the first time in Berrafato’s career to receive All-Atlantic Hockey honors. Berrafato’s selection also marks the first time a Crusader has earned first team accolades since Matt Ginn in 2015. Berrafato is the fifth Crusader to earn first team honors and the 16th Crusader to earn All-Atlantic Hockey honors since the league’s inception 15 years ago.

In the 2017-18 regular season, Berrafato played every minute for Holy Cross and compiled 995 saves for a .920 save percentage and 2.50 goals against average. He recorded five shutouts on the season to capture the all-time single season shutout record at Holy Cross, as well as the all-time shutout record with 11 in his career. Berrafato finished the regular season with the highest save percentage in Atlantic Hockey and has made the most saves across the league.

The senior goaltender was a three-time Atlantic Hockey Goalie of the Week, as well as a Walter Brown Award Semifinalist. He earned Atlantic Hockey Goalie of the Month honors from his play through November.

Catch Berrafato and the rest of the Crusaders in the Atlantic Hockey Quarterfinals as the three-seed. Holy Cross will host seven-seed Robert Morris at the Hart Center on March 9-11 at 7:05 p.m.
