Crowley Named Patriot League Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week

Holy Cross Athletics   10-08-2018

WORCESTER, Mass. – Women’s soccer junior midfielder Kelly Crowley has been named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week for her performance in last week’s 1-0 win over Loyola.

This is the second weekly award for Crowley in her career. She was named Rookie of the Week in October of her freshman season. The most recent Crusader to be honored by the conference was junior Carly Flahive, back on Sept. 3 when she was also named Offensive Player of the Week.

Crowley scored the game-winner in the contest against Loyola. In the 28th minute, Crowley managed to find her way through the defense to connect with a corner kick at the back post and headed it in to give the Crusaders the 1-0 lead, which they would hold on to to win the game.

The strike is Crowley’s first of the season and third of her career. She now has a goal to go with the assist she registered in a 5-1 win over St. Peter’s on Sept. 2.

The Crusaders play again on Tuesday night at 5:00 p.m. at home when they take on Dartmouth in their final non-conference matchup of the season.
