Moore Leads Crusaders at Day One of Patriot League Championships

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The women's track & field team competed in the first day of the Indoor track & field Patriot League Championships on Saturday, Feb. 17. 

HIGHLIGHTS FROM COMPETITION: 

  • Freshman Christa Jay Moore finished first and broke the Patriot League and Holy Cross school record in the pole vault with a score of 3.95.  
  • Sophomore Jenna Gasparrini finished second in the 5k with a personal-best time of 17:01.97.
  • Sophomore Allie Smiley finished fourth in the long jump with a 5.74m jump. Junior Alexandra Curtin placed fifth in the long jump (5.72m). Senior Alanna Hitscherich placed sixth in the long jump (5.71m). All three long jumpers qualified for ECACs. 
  • Sophomore Morgan Sanders finished in sixth place in the pentathlon with a final score of 3195. She saw a personal best in the shot put (7.81m) and in the high jump (1.57m).
  • Alanna Hitscherich qualified for the finals of the 60m hurdles with her eighth place finish in the preliminary round (9.06).
  • In the 4x800m, the team of Meghan Dietter, Kate Spitler, Claire Turner and Zoe Matherne finished seventh (9:17.68).
