
Men's Golf Places 16th At Hartford Hawks Invitational

SOUTH KENT, Conn. – Senior Joe Egan finished in a tie for 22nd place as an individual, to lead the Holy Cross men’s golf team to a 16th-place finish out of 20 schools in the Hartford Hawks Invitational at the Bull’s Bridge Golf Club. Egan totaled 143 strokes over two rounds to finish at one-under par.
Senior Jake Peer tied for 47th place overall with 149 strokes, while sophomore Paul Carey tied for 87th with 157 strokes. Sophomore Harrison Thayer tied for 90th with a score of 158, and freshman Collin Fitzpatrick tied for 96th with a 160.
Central Florida won the team title with a two-round total of 550 strokes, while Holy Cross totaled 607 strokes. Bobby Bai of Central Florida was the individual medalist after finishing at nine-under par (135 strokes).
The Crusaders return to action when they take part in the Quechee Club Collegiate Challenge at the Quechee Club, Quechee, Vt.., from Sept. 22-23.
