The Holy Cross men's basketball team hits the road this weekend for a 1:00 p.m. game at Rhode Island on Sunday, Nov. 19. The contest between the Crusaders and the Rams will be shown by Cox Communications, and will also air live on WEEI 1440 AM in Worcester.

Holy Cross is off to a 2-0 start this season, posting victories over Sacred Heart (69-64) and Harvard (73-69). Junior guard Patrick Benzan has led the team by averaging 16.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game. Junior forward Karl Charles has added 12.5 points, 4.0 assists and 2.5 steals per contest, while freshman guard Caleb Green is chipping in with 12.0 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.

The Crusaders are now in their third year under head coach Bill Carmody, and are coming off a 2016-2017 season in which they went 15-17 overall and placed fifth in the Patriot League with a 9-9 mark in conference games.

Rhode Island stands 1-1 so far this season, with a win over North Carolina-Asheville (84-60) and a loss at Nevada (88-81). Senior guard Jared Terrell has led the team by averaging 15.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. Senior guard E.C. Matthews (14.0 points per game), senior forward Andre Berry (10.5 points per game) and senior guard Stanford Robinson (10.5 points per game) are also scoring in double digits.

The Rams are coming off a 2016-2017 campaign in which they went 25-10 overall, won the Atlantic 10 Tournament title and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

After the contest with Rhode Island, Holy Cross will travel to Fairleigh Dickinson for a 2:00 p.m. game on Wednesday, Nov. 22.
