The Holy Cross men’s basketball team returns home this week to face Albany in a 1:05 p.m. game on Saturday, Nov. 25. The contest between the Crusaders and the Great Danes will be shown by the Patriot League Network, and will also air live on WEEI 1440 AM in Worcester.

Holy Cross is off to a 2-2 start this season, posting victories over Sacred Heart (69-64) and Harvard (73-69) while falling to Rhode Island (88-66) and Fairleigh Dickinson (87-76). Freshman guard Caleb Green has led the team by averaging 15.0 points, 3.8 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game, while hitting 53.3 percent of his three-point field goal attempts. Junior forward Karl Charles is also off to a strong start this year, with averages of 14.0 points, 4.0 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 2.3 steals per contest. Junior guard Patrick Benzan has added 11.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game, while junior forward Jehyve Floyd is chipping in with 10.5 points, 5.3 boards and 1.3 steals per contest.

The Crusaders are now in their third year under head coach Bill Carmody, and are coming off a 2016-2017 season in which they went 15-17 overall and placed fifth in the Patriot League with a 9-9 mark in conference games.

Albany stands 5-0 so far this season, and is currently ranked No. 8 in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25. Junior guard David Nichols has led the team by averaging 17.0 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. Senior guard Travis Charles (15.2 points per game), junior guard Joe Cremo (14.6 points per game) and senior forward Greig Stire (10.2 points per game) are also scoring in double digits.

The Great Danes are coming off a 2016-2017 campaign in which they went 21-14 overall and tied for third place in the America East Conference with a 10-6 mark in league games.

After the contest with Albany, Holy Cross will head across the Atlantic Ocean to take part in the Basketball Hall of Fame Belfast Classic in Belfast, Northern Ireland, from Dec. 1-2.
