The Holy Cross men’s basketball team plays its second straight road game when it travels to American for a 7:00 p.m. contest on Monday, Jan. 22. The game between the Crusaders and the Eagles will be shown live to a national audience on the CBS Sports Network, and will also air on WEEI 1440 AM in Worcester.

Holy Cross owns an overall record of 5-14 on the season with a 2-6 mark in the Patriot League. The Crusaders have lost three of their last four games, and are coming off a 77-56 setback at Bucknell on Saturday. Holy Cross currently leads the Patriot League with a +1.6 turnover margin, while standing second in scoring defense (69.8 points per game).

Junior forward Jehyve Floyd has led the team by averaging 10.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game, while ranking first in the league with a .638 field goal percentage. Junior forward Karl Charles has also been playing well, with averages of 9.9 points, 2.7 assists, 2.4 rebounds and 1.4 steals per contest. Freshman guard Caleb Green has added 8.7 points, 2.7 assists and 2.5 boards per game, while freshman guard Austin Butler is chipping in with 8.3 points and 2.9 rebounds per contest.

American currently stands 5-14 overall with a 2-6 mark in Patriot League play. The Eagles have dropped two of their last three games, including a 62-53 loss to Lafayette on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore guard Sa’eed Nelson has led the team by averaging 18.0 points, 4.7 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game. Junior guard Larry Motuzis has posted 15.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.7 steals per contest, and freshman forward Sam Iorio has added 12.1 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.

After the contest at American, Holy Cross will return home to face Lafayette at 2:05 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27.
