The Holy Cross men’s basketball team will play its final home game of the regular season when it faces American at 7:05 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21. The contest between the Crusaders and the Eagles can be seen online through the Patriot League Network, and will also air live on WEEI 1440 AM in Worcester.

Holy Cross owns an overall record of 10-17 on the season with a 7-9 mark in the Patriot League. The Crusaders have won five of their last eight games, and are coming off a 68-67 overtime loss to Bucknell on Saturday. Holy Cross currently ranks second in the Patriot League in scoring defense (68.5 points per game) and turnover margin (+1.0 turnovers per game).

Heading into the week, the Crusaders are tied for sixth place in the Patriot League standings with Lafayette. With two games left, Holy Cross can still finish as high as fourth or as low as ninth in the conference.

Junior forward Jehyve Floyd has led the team by averaging 12.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game, while ranking sixth in the nation with a .664 field goal percentage. Freshman guard Austin Butler has also been playing well, with averages of 9.3 points and 3.3 rebounds per contest. Freshman guard Caleb Green has added 8.9 points, 2.9 assists and 2.4 boards per game, while freshman forward Jacob Grandison is chipping in with 8.1 points and 4.2 rebounds per contest.

American currently stands 6-21 overall with a 3-13 mark in Patriot League play. The Eagles have dropped eight of their last nine games, including a 90-85 loss at Lafayette on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore guard Sa’eed Nelson has led the team by averaging 18.1 points, 4.7 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game. Freshman forward Sam Iorio has posted 14.9 points and 6.8 rebounds per contest, and junior guard Larry Motuzis has added 14.4 points, 4.8 boards and 1.7 assists per game.

After the contest with American, Holy Cross will close out the regular season with a 2:00 p.m. game at Colgate on Saturday, Feb. 24.
