WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross women’s basketball team is set to open Patriot League play on Friday night, as the Crusaders head to Hamilton, N.Y. to face Colgate. Friday’s game will be broadcast online via the Patriot League Network. In addition, the game will be broadcast on Emmauel Radio (1230 AM | with Bob Fouracre on play-by-play.

• Holy Cross most recently fell to Dartmouth 76-74 in overtime on Dec. 20 in Worcester.
• Senior Infiniti Thomas-Waheed notched her 1,000th career point in the win over Vermont with a jump shot in the third quarter. She became the 33rd player in program history to reach the milestone. Holy Cross will recognize Thomas-Waheed with a presentation prior to Wednesday’s game. She leads the Patriot League in scoring with 18.8 points per game.
• Sophomore Lauren Manis ranks second in the Patriot League with 18.5 points per game and ranks fourth in rebounds per game with 9.2. She set a new career-high with 28 points in the loss at Hofstra, and recorded the 13th double-double of her career against Dartmouth.
• Manis was named the 2016-2017 Patriot League Rookie of the Year, while Katie Doherty earned Academic All-Patriot League honors.

• The Crusaders are 52-7 all-time against Colgate.
• In the last meeting between the two programs, the Raiders earned a 70-52 win over Holy Cross in Hamilton on Feb. 1, 2017.
• The first meeting between these two teams took place on Jan. 31, 1991, with the Crusaders earning a 95-72 win in Worcester.
• In games played in Hamilton, Holy Cross holds the series edge 23-5.

• Four Crusaders scored in double digits as the Holy Cross women’s basketball team fell to Dartmouth, 76-74, in overtime in front of 2,312 fans on Dec. 20 at the Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex.
• Holy Cross was led by senior Infiniti Thomas-Waheed, who tallied 23 points while adding nine rebounds. 
• Sophomore Lauren Manis registered her fifth double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds. 
• Senior Tricia Byrne also added 14 points while shooting 6-for-7, and sophomore Madalyn Smith posted 13 points while shooting 4-for-6 from three-point range. 
• Dartmouth was led Olivia Smith, who scored 17 points. 
• Cy Lippold earned a double-double for the Big Green with 13 points and 10 assists. 
• The Crusaders shot 47.5% (29-for-61), while Dartmouth hit 44.3% (31-for-70) of their shots. 
• The Big Green had a narrow edge in rebounds, 38-37. • Holy Cross committed 25 turnovers, while Dartmouth made 17.

• Colgate is 4-7 on the year, and has fallen in four of its last five contests. The Raiders most recently fell to Niagara 44-81 after taking a 73-83 setback to Brown.
• Last season, Colgate went 10-20 with a 7-11 record in the Patriot League. They were eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Patriot League Tournament by Army West Point, 76-83.
• Summer King leads Colgate in scoring with an average of 10.3 points per game while shooting 51.7% from the field.
• King has also been the team’s leading rebounder this season, posting 8.0 boards per game.
• Head coach Bill Cleary is in his second season at Colgate.

• The Crusaders will return to action following the Colgate game with Lafayette at the Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex on Jan. 2 at 7:05 p.m.
