Holy Cross Athletics   11-02-2017

WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross head men’s lacrosse coach Judd Lattimore and director of athletics Nathan Pine have announced the team’s schedule for the 2018 season. The team will play 13 regular season games and six home games at Kuzniewski Field.

The Crusaders will open the 2018 season with four road scrimmages. The team will travel to Rutgers (Jan. 20), then to Bryant for scrimmages with the Bulldogs and Assumption (Jan. 27), and then to Dartmouth (Feb. 3). The team will then travel for their first official non-conference road game to Providence on Feb. 10.

Holy Cross will open play at Kuzniewski Field on Saturday, Feb. 17 with Vermont. The team will hit the road again for a Tuesday game at Harvard (Feb. 20) and then to open Patriot League play at Lehigh on Saturday, Feb. 24.

The team will host reigning Patriot League champions, Loyola (March 3) and Bucknell (March 10). Holy Cross will play at Army on March 17 before returning home to play Brown on March 20.

The Crusaders will take a break from Patriot League play with a trip to MAAC opponent Quinnipiac on March 24. Holy Cross will return to conference action with a road game at Navy (March 31), host Lafayette (April 7) and play at Colgate (April 14) before hosting Boston University in their regular season finale (April 20). The game with Boston University is also a Turnpike Trophy game, which is part of the Crusaders’ rivalry series with the Terriers.

The Patriot League Tournament will feature a six-team field with a pair of quarterfinal games played at the site of the higher-seeded team. The six-seed will play at the three-seed and the fifth-seed at the fourth-seed. The quarterfinal winners will join the first and second-seeded teams at the site of the highest overall seed for the semifinal and final games. The Patriot League quarterfinals will be played on April 24, the semifinal on April 27 and the final on April 29.

In 2017, the Crusaders qualified for the Patriot League Tournament for the second consecutive year and second time in program history. Holy Cross defeated Navy (11-7) to advance to the semifinals for the first time in program history and set a program record with four Patriot League wins.
